AG publishes conflict of interest agreement in PM's cases

|
Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit on Monday handed over to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a conflict of interest agreement in his corruption trial.
The agreement raises five main issues intended to prevent Netanyahu from using his power to gain advantages in his trial for charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust.
The premier is prohibited from making decisions concerning appointments of high-ranking officials in the law enforcement system, decisions concerning the appointment of Supreme Court justices and Jerusalem District judges and making decisions concerning witnesses or other defendants in his case.
Netanyahu is also prohibited from interfering in the line of work of the Communications Ministry in a way that could impact his case and from being involved in legislation that may have an impact on the criminal proceedings.
The agreement will allow Mandelblit to defend Netanyahu in the High Court of Justice against petitions demanding his ouster from the premiership.
