Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Rabin Square in Tel Aviv to protest the cuts in pensions. According to the chairman of the Pensioners' Union, Shmulik Mizrahi, and its CEO Ephraim Koren: "The pensioners are protesting, among other things, the cut of about NIS 2,000 a year from the pensions of about a quarter of a million veterans of the old funds. This is while the ministers are supposed to receive a salary increase of NIS 6,500 every month.
