The number of new coronavirus cases among the Haredi sector over the past two days is 40% than the general public's, Health Ministry data showed Tuesday.
According to the ministry, 2.2% of those tested for the virus among the general public was positive, will in the ultra-Orthodox community that rate stands at 3.1%.
Ret. Maj. Gen. Roni Numa, head of the coronavirus task force in the Haredi community, said the morbidity rate is still relatively low, but that a change is noticeable.
