Deputy Finance Minister Itzik Cohen resigns from government

|
Deputy Finance Minister Itzik Cohen of Shas on Tuesday informed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of his resignation from his position.
Last week, Cohen resigned from his other role as acting construction and housing minister following the reinstatement of Yaakov Litzman to the post. Cohen was invited to stay at the ministry alongside Litzman, but refused, citing a lack of authority that would entail.
In recent days, government officials tried to find a new ministerial position for Cohen, but this did not materialize due to disagreements and the fact that the agreed quotas for government ministers had already been met.
