Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on Monday during a Knesset panel on combating violence against women, saying that women "are not animals that we can hit. We ourselves know that it is proper to hit animals."
"Women are animals, children are animals, we are all animals," he said.
"There is a series of actions, with every step crucial in the battle against this phenomenon - education, prevention, punishment and enforcement."
