Chairman of the Sovereignty Council of Sudan Abdel Fattah al-Burhan warned U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that if the U.S. Congress fails to pass a bill by the end of the month which grants Sudan immunity from lawsuits by victims of terrorism, the African country would freeze the process of normalizing relations with Israel, the New York Times reported on Tuesday.
Pompeo reportedly "tried to reassure" al-Burhan and promised that Congress will approve the law in the coming weeks.
