The Health Ministry on Wednesday said 1,182 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed out of 63,993 tests conducted in the past day indicating a 1.5% positivity rate.
There are 266 people in serious condition being treated in hospital with 94 of them on ventilators.
Since the start of the pandemic, 2,877 people have died due to complications of COVID-19.
