The Health Ministry on Tuesday said that in the past day, 2,279 people tested positive for COVID-19, the largest number of new daily cases in two months.
After 72,423 tests conducted the positivity rate was 3.2%.
There are currently 344 people in serious condition in hospitals with 130 of them on ventilators.
After another Israeli succumbed to the virus the death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands on 3,004.
