According to the research team of the Hebrew University, a rapid nationwide action is needed to prevent the need for a comprehensive closure.
"In the likely variety of scenarios , it is difficult to avoid reaching about 1,000 patients in critical condition during January and mortality of hundreds until February," said the research team.
The team further added that the rapid increase in morbidity over the last two days may be due to the expansion of trading activities and Hanukkah events.
