Passengers who arrived in Israel on EasyJet and British Airways flights on Sunday, were detained on board pending medical teams conducting coronavirus tests.
The move comes after a mutation of coronavirus was identified and was seen to spread rapidly in the British Isles.
The Israeli so called Coronavirus Cabinet has been meeting to deliberate measures to prevent the spread of the new mutation with the option to close down all ports of entry to travelers from countries infected, to be discussed.
