The Head of the Israel's Teachers Union, Yaffa David on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to close all schools immediately in light of the continued surge in coronavirus cases.
In a letter to the prime minister, David also demanded that all teaching staff be given the coronavirus vaccine claiming the number of teachers either infected or sent into quarantine leaves schools unable to staff their classrooms.
