Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has issued a presidential order on Friday to hold the first elections in the Palestinian Authority since 2006.
According to the order, elections will be held in three stages: the Legislative Council, which is the Palestinian parliament, the Palestinian presidency and the Palestinian National Council.
Elections to the Legislative Council will be held on May 22 and elections for the Palestinian presidency will be held on July 31.
