The Health Ministry reported Tuesday that 8,667 new coronavirus cases have been diagnosed the previous day.
The death toll since the start of the pandemic rose to 4,493.
Out of 74,059 patients battling the disease, 1,179 are in serious condition, with 305 connected to ventilators.
