The Health Ministry reported Tuesday evening 5.182 new cases of coronavirus out of some 55,000 coronavirus tests conducted in the past 24 hours, meaning 9.5% of all tests came back positive.
There were 1,173 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in serious condition across the country, among them 313 patients on ventilators.
Since the onset of the pandemic in Israel, 4,501 people have succumbed to the illness, 14 of them on Tuesday alone.
