Almost half [44%] of Israel's coronavirus cases diagnosed in the past 24 hours were among citizens aged 19 and under even though the education system has been closed for close to a month, a Military Intelligence Directorate report published on Friday said.
On the other hand, only 6.2% of new infections were found among citizens aged 60 and over. The virus' infection rate (R number) in Israel has increased to 1 - meaning each COVID-19 patient infects at least one more person on average.
