Israel posts 6,271 fresh virus cases, 40 new deaths

Israel on Saturday said 6,271 people tested positive for coronavirus a day earlier, while 40 patients lost their lives.
The Health Ministry said over 79,000 tests had been conducted on Friday, putting the contagion rate at 7.8%. Since midnight Saturday 1,717 people have tested positive for COVID-19.
At least 1,124 patients are in serious condition, of whom 332 are ventilated. The official death toll now stands at 5,057 after 28 patients passed away on Friday and at least 12 on Saturday.
