Founding Director of the Clalit Research Institute, and senior advisor to the coronavirus cabinet, Prof. Ran Balicer, warned the ministerial coronavirus Cabinet that lifting the nationwide closure in the midst of an infection surge could lead to rising mortality among the country's younger population.
According to Prof. Balicer, "400,000 unvaccinated adults are a potential 30,000 serious patients who could cause hospitals to collapse. Almost 20% of all infected are under the age of 50.
