The Health Ministry Friday morning reported that 3,782 new coronavirus cases had been diagnosed the previous day.
The death toll since the start of the pandemic rose to 5,694.
Out of 40,445 active patients, 738 are in serious condition, with 238 connected to ventilators.
With 70,039 tests conducted Thursday, the contagion rate stands at 5.6%.
