A senior Health Ministry official attacked the ruling of the High Court, according to which the restrictions the government imposed on Ben-Gurion Airport are unconstitutional.
"I was afraid that political elements would make such decisions on the eve of the election, but it was the High Court who stabbed us in the back," said the senior official, who also rejected the remarks of other senior members at the health system, who supported the decision and argued that only enforcement and isolation could resolve the issue of coronavirus variants potnetially entering Israel via the airport.
"There is no enforcement and there will not be," added the official.
