Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview with the Israeli Arab weekly Kul al-Arab, that the Nationality Bill - which states that Israel is the state of the Jewish people - was approved in 2018 due to "the danger of illegal immigrants from Africa flooding Israel... and in fact does not have anything to do with the country's Arab population."
The Prime Minister added: "Israel is the nation state of the Jewish people, but a state in which every citizen, Jew and non-Jew, has equal rights. This is a model that also exists in other countries."
