The Health Ministry on Friday reported 830 new cases of coronavirus were detected out of 65,406 tests conducted in the previous 24 hours — meaning 1.3% of tests came back positive — a slight increase compared to recent days.
The pathogen's reproduction (R) number has also increased slightly to 0.59.
There were 470 coronavirus patients hospitalized in serious condition — the lowest such figure since the end of December.
Seven Israelis have succumbed to COVID-19 on Thursday. bringing the national death toll to 6,164.
So far, 5.2 Israelis have received at least one shot of the coronavirus vaccine and 4.7 million of them have received both doses.
