The Health Ministry stated that Israel's COVID vaccine stock is sufficient only for the current round of vaccines. According to the ministry, "there is an important need to purchase millions of additional vaccines to prepare for various scenarios such as booster doses, vaccination of children and the possibility of variants resistant to the current vaccine."
Despite the warning, the Director General at the Health Ministry, Prof. Hezi Levi, clarified that there is no shortage of vaccines, but at the same time, preparations must be made for scenarios such as the development of additional strains or a future need for a third dose.
