Jailed Abbas rival Barghouti to run separately from Fatah in PA elections

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' political rival Marwan Barghouti announced on Tuesday, that he would run in own political list in the May elections to the Palestinian Authority legislator.
Barghouti, who is serving consecutive life sentences in an Israeli prison for terrorism, said he would break away from the Fatah list after negotiations with the party to secure positions for his allies, failed.
Political parties must complete their registrations by Wednesday night if they want to compete in the elections.
