EU's Von der Leyen: Israel and Hamas must build on ceasefire deal

Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, on Friday welcomed a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas and urged both sides to build on it.
"I urge both sides to consolidate it and stabilize the situation in the long term. Only a political solution will bring lasting peace and security to all," Von der Leyen tweeted.
The Egyptian-mediated truce between Israel and Hamas took hold on Friday.
