Defense Minister Benny Gantz put on the table of the new government a proposal to establish a state commission of inquiry into the Meron disaster, in which 45 men were killed and 150 were injured. According to the coalition agreement, the proposal should be approved at the next cabinet meeting.
"This is a moral debt to families," said Gantz. "No less important, it is necessary to investigate the incident and avoid such tragic events in the future."
