Lebanese Army Chief of Staff, General Joseph Aoun, said at an event marking the country's "80th Army Day" that "the army continues to expand state authority over all its lands and implement international resolutions, especially Resolution 1701." According to him, "Lebanon is facing interconnected challenges, foremost among them the threats from the Israeli enemy - and terrorism - which seeks to undermine national unity. These challenges require responsibility from all parties to overcome this stage."
