The head of Lahav 433 unit, Chief Superintendent Meni Benjamin, rejected allegations of conflict of interest during his questioning by the Police Internal Investigations Department, amid suspicions that he influenced an investigation in his unit and abused his authority. He claimed that his relationship with the "associate" whose investigation he allegedly influenced was a "professional connection" - stemming from his role and position as the person in charge of managing the investigation. According to Benjamin, orderly records were kept regarding the nature of the relationship, and all memos were uploaded in full to police systems.
