The Lebanese news agency 'Younews' claimed that Iran thwarted a scenario of Syrian military intervention in Lebanon that was prepared at the request of the United States. The report also stated that Tehran directly warned Damascus that any military invasion into Lebanese territory would be met with the activation of multiple fronts inside Syria and along its borders. The Iranian warning was not directed only at Damascus, but also reached Ankara, Baghdad, Doha and Riyadh.
