The Health Ministry reported that a rabid jackal was found near Gesher Kibbutz, along the system axis north of Shulamit outpost. One person was exposed to the jackal and was referred for preventive treatment. The epidemiological investigation is ongoing. Anyone who had contact, or whose animals had contact in the incident area with the infected jackal or with a stray animal, between October 14 and October 28 inclusive, is urgently asked to contact the Afula Health Bureau at 4 Jerusalem Street, phone 04-6099000, or the health bureau nearest to their place of residence.
