Sources close to the Prime Minister responded to the statement by Government Legal Advisor Gali Baharav-Miara, saying that 'her claim that the Prime Minister's alleged conflict of interest continues to apply to the appointment of the next Shin Bet chief is completely baseless.' According to them, 'There is no mention of this in the Supreme Court ruling. The investigation is being conducted independently under the close supervision of the Legal Advisor. The appointment of a new Shin Bet chief does not affect the investigation in any way.'
