Security guard at Ichilov contracts measles: 'He was stationed outside the nursery. Exposure level estimated to be low'

|
The Health Ministry announced that a security guard at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv was diagnosed with measles. It was reported that 'the security guard was present at the entrance of Neonatal Ward A last Saturday for about half an hour starting at 6:52 p.m., and on Sunday starting at 2:45 p.m. until he felt unwell and left at 7:30 p.m. During his work, he checked the bracelets of the babies and mothers as they left the ward. The hospital, together with the Tel Aviv District Health Bureau, contacted the families of the newborns to provide them with preventive treatment.' Ichilov noted that 'our initial assessment is that the exposure level is low, since the employee was stationed outside the nursery and worked with a mask. Out of an abundance of caution, we are working to ensure that the families and babies receive treatment and preventive vaccination.'
