Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich criticized the Netherlands' decision to ban his entry into the country, calling it "European hypocrisy." Smotrich said: "More important to me than entering the Netherlands is ensuring that my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with all Jews worldwide, can live safely in the State of Israel for hundreds of years to come." He added that "judging by European hypocrisy, its leaders' surrender to the lies of radical Islam taking over Europe and the rising antisemitism there - Jews won't be able to live safely there in the future either."
