The Foreign Ministry's Appointments Committee for Heads of Overseas Missions has decided to appoint Gilad Cohen, Israel's ambassador to Japan, to the position of head of the political division at the Foreign Ministry. In addition, Shagai Karni, who currently serves as head of the Southeast Asia Division, has been appointed Israel's ambassador to South Korea. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar will bring the appointment for approval to the Ministerial Committee on Appointments in the Foreign Service and the government plenum.
