The UN Human Rights Council is warning of 'ethnic cleansing' in Hebron, concurrent with the large-scale counterterrorism operation the IDF and Shin Bet launched following the attack near the Judea Junction. The UN stated that 'collective punishment is a grave violation of international law. Threats to evacuate and erase entire neighborhoods raise real concerns about ethnic cleansing.' In the area where the IDF is operating in Hebron, approximately 2,000 residents live who are affiliated with a clan identified with Hamas, from which the terrorists who carried out the attack came. The Foreign Ministry claimed it is 'a baseless propaganda document. Its purpose is to undermine Israel's right to self-defense and legitimize jihadist terrorism.'
