The Council for Higher Education (CHE) has approved the submission of a six-year medical degree program (M.D.) at Ariel University. The decision follows the recommendation of the Planning and Budgeting Committee and represents another step in the strategic initiative the CHE has been leading in recent years to increase the number of medical students in Israel, reduce the number of Israeli students forced to study abroad and ensure a long-term response to the needs of the health system. Ariel plans to open the six-year program as early as this coming October. The number of students will be determined later.
