Lithuanian leader Rabbi Dov Lando declared that no yeshiva student will enlist in the IDF. Rabbi Lando arrived at the 'Maor HaTalmud' yeshiva following the arrest of yeshiva student Avraham Ben Dayan. He said that 'to those who plot evil and scheme wickedness, know that your stand against those who study Torah is a war against the eternity of Israel. Whether the authorities agree or not, not even one yeshiva student, not even one student, will go to the army, not in this way and not in any other way.'
