Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that "if we work together with Germany, we will contribute to the entire world and the Middle East." He made these remarks in Jerusalem alongside German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and added: "There are opportunities for peace. The Iranian axis has been severely hit, I will discuss this with Trump later this month - and we will bring an end to Hamas's role in Gaza. We are almost at the end of the first phase and expect to move soon to the second phase. We will achieve Hamas's disarmament and demilitarize Gaza."
