Arrest extended for Palestinian suspect in deadly hit-and-run of cyclist in Tel Aviv

A Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court extended by six days the detention of Noor Gabour, 24, an illegal resident from the West Bank village of Salem, who is suspected of fatally running over a cyclist with a stolen vehicle on Wednesday in the Tel Aviv Cliff Beach area. According to the allegations, Gabour stole a vehicle in Tel Aviv and fled from police, and during the chase the vehicle overturned on sandy terrain and struck a 56-year-old cyclist from Ramat Hasharon, who was critically injured and died shortly afterward. Gabour is also suspected of causing death by negligence. Gabour does not deny that he was driving the vehicle and that it overturned, but during his interrogation he denied hitting the cyclist.
