Report: Trump orders warships to Caribbean to counter cartel threats

The U.S. has ordered warships to be deployed to the southern Caribbean islands as part of President Donald Trump's efforts to deal with drug cartels from Latin America, two sources told Reuters. According to them, the warships San Antonio, Iwo Jima and Fort Lauderdale could reach the coast of Venezuela as early as Sunday. The vessels carry 4,500 military personnel, including 2,200 Marines, the sources said.
