Israeli sources: Jerusalem and Beirut discuss pilot plan - IDF to transfer parts of southern Lebanon to Lebanese army

Israel and Lebanon are discussing a pilot project, with U.S. support, in which IDF forces will transfer parts of southern Lebanon to Lebanese army forces. This was stated by three Israeli sources to Reuters news agency. According to the sources, the Lebanese forces will undergo American training and vetting.
