Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's adviser, Yonatan Urich, met at least twice in Europe in July 2024 with senior Qatari official Ali al-Tuwadi, who serves on the 'Peace Council' and was also present during Netanyahu's apology call to the Qatari prime minister over the strike in Doha. The report on the two meetings, in at least one of which in Berlin lobbyist Jay Footlik and Netanyahu's additional adviser Sharolik Einhorn were also present, was published this evening on Channel 12 News. Netanyahu claimed in his testimony that he was unaware of any contact between his adviser and Qatar, and Urich himself denied that he met with Footlik. According to the report, Urich confirmed the existence of the meetings in his police interrogation.
