Committee's First Post-Break Session: Law to Match MKs' Salary to Judges

|
The first Ministerial Committee for Legislation to convene after the Passover break will discuss a bill to equalize ministers' and Knesset members' salaries with judges' pay, ynet has learned. The discussion comes amid a wave of price increases and government ministry budget cuts. The bill also stipulates the establishment of a public committee that will determine the salaries of the three branches of government: judicial, legislative and executive. According to the plan, an identical salary scale for judges and Knesset members will be established based on seniority or rank, however, under this law the MKs' salaries will not decrease - only increase.
