Clalit Health Services clinics have been shut down from 7:00 AM for 24 hours and the HMO's hospitals are operating on a very limited basis, in protest by the workers' committee against what it defined as "the Health Ministry's decision to take over Clalit Health Services and deliver a deathblow to its managerial independence." This step was taken following the Health Ministry's decision to appoint an investigative committee into the conduct of the health fund's management.
