The Times noted that al-Jolani is expected to 'push' for lifting American sanctions on his country in exchange for U.S. access to Syrian natural resources, similar to the minerals agreement in Ukraine. The report also states that the Syrian president might agree to join the Abraham Accords, including the possibility of Israeli military presence in southern Syria.
