The Civil Administration informed residents of the Jenin refugee camp earlier this week that the IDF intends to demolish 24 buildings in the area for operational purposes. According to an IDF spokesperson, residents were given the opportunity to remove their belongings. The decision to demolish the buildings was made by the regional commander, "while minimizing the scope of demolition to the required minimum, and after considering other alternatives." It was also reported that terrorist organizations make extensive use of explosive devices that endanger IDF forces operating in refugee camps.
