Iran's parliament approved the appointment of Mehrdad Ahlaqhi as defense minister, after months of interim leadership at the ministry. This is according to state media in the country. Ahlaqhi, a senior official in Iran's Defense Ministry, previously served as head of the Organization for Aviation and Space Industries.
