The Druze community in As-Suwayda in southern Syria announced an agreement with the government to integrate the province into the country. According to them, "The agreement establishes the full integration of the Druze stronghold into the country and the operation and rehabilitation of all institutions, an investigation committee will be established to investigate violations that occurred, victims will be compensated and damage will be repaired." The wording of the agreement, which is not yet clear if it will actually be implemented, means that Syrian regime forces will withdraw from As-Suwayda, and those who will manage security control in the area are the Druze residents of the province.
