U.S. President Donald Trump is threatening to seize Iran's "oil island" in the Persian Gulf. In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, he wrote: "The U.S. will strike Iran (whose navy, air force, radar, air defense systems and all other forms of defense, along with most of its offensive capability, have been destroyed! with great force tonight). At some point in the not-too-distant future, we will take control of Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure points, and gain complete control over their oil and gas markets, as we did with Venezuela, which is working brilliantly for both Venezuela and the United States of America."
