The government has canceled, through a telephone poll, the decision to dismiss Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, who announced yesterday that he would end his role on June 15. The government's explanatory notes state that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu initially believed that Ronen Bar should retire from his position as head of the service in an agreed upon and dignified manner, similar to the IDF Chief of Staff's departure. The government further explained that 'the decision became unnecessary after Bar decided to step down unconditionally.'
