Danny Elgart, brother of Itzik Elgart who was abducted on October 7 and whose body was returned in a hostage deal, spoke at a demonstration in Tel Aviv's Habima Square, calling for equality in national service and the establishment of a state commission of inquiry. He said in his speech that "today they are trying to confuse us with words. Now they call it a 'tactical failure' – not the greatest disaster since the state's founding, not a massacre. As if small words can diminish a great disaster and diminish great responsibility even more. When there is no courage to call a disaster by its name, there is courage to distort it."
